New Joey Ramone Solo Album!

Joey RamoneHere at BubblegumPopPunk.com, we like to stick to European pop punk music, or at least bands touring within Europe.  There are lots of places on the web where you can find information on bands from the USA, so it’s good to keep this little corner of the internet for our area.

However, some news is just too big (and too good!) to ignore.  It’s been announced that Joey Ramone will have a second solo album released this May.  It will be a collection of 17 songs, taken from demos intended for the Ramones as well as for his solo work.  The recordings will have  guest musicians on some tracks, including Richie Ramone, Joan Jett, Little Steven and Joey’s brother Mickey Leigh, who seems to be the driving force behind the release of this album.

The album will be titled ‘…Ya Know?’ (something Joey said a lot…ya know?)  and will be released on all formats on May 15, after the release of a single from the album on April 21.  Although it draws from demos intended for the Ramones, it is also said to include some more diverse material – Joey enjoyed everything from 60s psych to country music, so expect a couple of surprises.

Hurry up, May 15th!
